Sward Elementary School filled the auditorium with music, excitement, and winter magic during its annual Winter Concert held today. Families, staff, and students gathered to celebrate the season and enjoy performances from the Sward School Chorus, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students. Each group brought its own charm to the stage, creating a memorable event for all who attended.
The Sward School Chorus opened the concert with a beautiful set of winter-themed selections. Their performance began with the serene and reflective “Winter Trilogy,” followed by the warm and cheerful “Kind Old Winter.” The chorus closed their portion with the lively and upbeat “Here Comes the Snow,” setting a festive tone for the rest of the program.
Next, the kindergartners took the stage, delighting the audience with their adorable and enthusiastic performances. They showcased their rhythm and coordination in “Up, Down" and "Tap, Tap, Tap,” and then charmed everyone with “Hat for My Snowman,” a playful tribute to winter fun.
The first-graders continued the celebration with a trio of joyful songs. Their voices sparkled like snowflakes in “Dancing Snowflakes,” before shifting into high gear with the energetic “Rock and Roll Snowman.” They concluded their set with a whimsical rendition of “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” bringing a touch of holiday magic to the stage.
Closing out the concert, the second-graders delivered a spirited and polished performance. They began with the cheerful “Winter Fun” and followed with the beautifully uplifting “Follow the Star.” The grand finale, however, was an unforgettable highlight: a stunning performance of “Carol of the Bells,” accompanied by an exciting laser light show that illuminated the gymnasium and left the audience in awe.
The 2025 Sward School Winter Concert was truly a celebration of student talent, hard work, and seasonal cheer all thanks to our wonderfully talented music teacher, Mrs. Glikis. From the youngest performers to the seasoned chorus members, every student contributed to an afternoon filled with joy, pride, and music that will be remembered long after the final note faded.
