Keep Growing All Summer Long with D123!

Summer School flyer

Families across Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 are gearing up for another exciting summer of learning, creativity, and exploration with the district’s wide-ranging summer programs. Available to students from Pre-K through incoming 8th grade, these programs are designed to keep minds active while offering fun, engaging opportunities that go far beyond the traditional classroom.

Registration for the 2026 summer session is now open through the district’s official summer website, D123 Summer Programs, and families are encouraged to sign up early as popular classes tend to fill quickly. While specific schedules may vary by program, sessions traditionally take place during June and into July, offering flexible options for families looking to balance summer fun with meaningful academic enrichment.

At the heart of the program is a commitment to both academic growth and student interest. Courses are divided into engaging “Launch” classes, focused on core subjects like reading, math, science, and social studies and “Discovery” classes, where students explore topics such as art, STEM, sports, and creative enrichment.

This summer’s programming is made even more special thanks to the passionate Sward School educators leading many of the courses. Students will have the opportunity to learn from outstanding teachers including Miss McCorry, Ms. Abrams, Ms. Gray, Mrs. Keblusek, Mrs. Coennen, Ms. Schiestel, Mrs. Opiola, Miss Linnert, and Mrs. Altenburg. These educators bring energy, creativity, and expertise to their classrooms, offering unique learning experiences that inspire curiosity and build confidence in every student.
