At the end of every trimester, Hannum students take time to celebrate all they have achieved. Our PBIS team paired classrooms together for these celebrations. Kindergarten works with third grade, first grade works with fourth grade, and second grade works with fifth grade. Fifth grade and second grade decided to take it one step further and buddied up for a research project too! This past week, second graders were tasked with researching an animal of their choice and creating a presentation. Fifth graders came to the second graders classrooms and helped them research their animal and create their presentation. The fifth graders loved taking on this leadership role and the second graders really look up to them. This was a great way for students to learn from other students. Working with other students also helps with student engagement. The best part about this system is seeing the older students wave to the younger students and saying "That's my buddy!"
