Spring Into Science and Art Night

Two students created a rainbow bridge.

On Thursday, March 23, 2023, Hannum Elementary hosted their final family engagement night of the year; science and art night. This year's science and art night was spring themed with 7 stations that families were able to visit. One of the art stations included a mural that was created by Mrs. Evans using Georgia O'Keeffe's flower as inspiration. Students were invited to add to the mural by drawing their favorite flower. At another art station, students created a flower diagram using paper plates and dot markers. Students created very colorful flowers! Families also visited science stations where they learned about blooming flowers and pollination. Some of the science stations allowed students to participate in fun STEM experiments, such as creating a peep nest using a cup, pipe cleaners, and unifix cubes or creating a rainbow bridge using Play-Doh and pipe cleaners. At the end of the night, students created their own spring themed buttons to take home. It was a very fun night for everyone and the themed stations definitely put a little "spring" in our step!
