Hannum's Annual Fifth Grade Recognition Day

Hannum's Annual Fifth Grade Recognition Day

Fifth grade recognition day at Hannum

This Friday Hannum honored its fifth graders with a special Recognition Day to celebrate their accomplishments and mark their transition to middle school.

Students enjoyed an afternoon of games, inflatables, and pizza, thanks to the efforts of teachers and parent volunteers.  Mr. Strickland single-handedly took on the entire fifth grade with a marathon game of Four Square.  He used old playground moves and techniques to take victory from his younger opponents.

Fifth graders gathered signatures of friends and teachers as a reminder of their time at Hannum.  For some, it will be a total of six years.  The longest amount of time they will spend at any other school in the near future, a place they grew up in, a place that is very comfortable and familiar but just like all things, in order to grow, change must occur.  These Bears are ready for OLHMS, they will continue to thrive and become the best people we know they can be.  Congratulations fifth grade Bears!  You will be missed but you are ready!!!!
