Xello! 2022

Xello! 2022

Last spring, 8th grade counselor Mrs. Vanessa Follmar applied for a grant to purchase an educational program called Xello, a pilot career development program, to our D123 EdFoundation. This engaging program was approved by the EdFoundation, and Mrs. Follmar wasted no time introducing Xello to our 8th grade students!

Xello is a personalized educational program where students gain insight on local and federal requirements for college and career readiness. Additionally, students gain motivation and self-motivation about their future, their career goals, and their academic interests.

In the first Xello session, Mrs. Follmar introduced the Xello program to 8th grade students, and they completed two out of four modules, which consisted of an interest assessment, learning assessment, a skills assessment, and learning style assessment. In the second session, students completed a skills development assessment, goals after high school route, and career interests form. After the first session, students expressed how much they love Xello! After the session, Bella stated “I wasn’t sure what I wanted to pursue in the future, but Xello really helped me have a better idea of what I want to do. I really loved the interest and learning style assessments because it brought me a lot of clarity!”

Thank you to Mrs. Follmar for starting this initiative and helping our students make their dreams become a reality!
