National School Counseling Week Contest

National School Counseling Week Contest

National School Counseling Week was recognized from February 6-10th this year. OLHMS Counselors, Mrs. O’Dwyer (6th grade counselor), Mrs. Hoeksema (7th grade counselor), and Mrs. Vanessa Follmar (8th grade counselor), challenged our scholars to a coloring contest to spread the theme of the week: “Helping Students Dream Big!” Each coloring picture incorporated this theme.

A winner was chosen from each team of each grade level. The Counselors were looking for bright and creative designs to help inspire students to “Dream Big!” Winners of the coloring contest received an “SEL Basket” (SEL stands for Social Emotional Learning). Each basket included coloring books, stress balls, calming strips, water bottles, pens, and, of course, candy!

Congratulations to:

  • 6th grade winners Danna S and Allie R
  • 7th grade winners Claire H and Makayla G
  • 8th grade winners Spencer M and Robert C

Thank you to OLHMS Counselors for continuing to support the scholars in our building as well as all contest participants for reminding their peers to “Dream Big!”
