OLHMS Welcomes 5th Graders for Exciting School Tour and Open Gym Night

OLHMS recently hosted an engaging event welcoming 5th graders from feeder schools to tour their facilities and get a taste of life as a Mustang.

Led by Principal Dr. McNichols and accompanied by 8th-grade student ambassadors, the 5th graders had the opportunity to explore OLHMS and learn about its programs and offerings firsthand. The student panel, comprised of enthusiastic ambassadors, shared insights and experiences, offering a glimpse into the middle school experience.

Throughout the tour, ambassadors, counselors, and Dr. McNichols were on hand to guide the students, providing valuable information and answering any questions they had about the school.

In addition to the tour, the PTSA organized a special 5th-grade open gym night, allowing students to interact with peers from different feeder schools. The event provided a fun and relaxed atmosphere for the incoming students to make new friends and start building connections within the Mustang community.

While the students enjoyed their tour and open gym night, parents were not left out. They were invited to join an informational meeting with student ambassadors and Dr. McNichols, where they received a tour of the facilities and learned more about what OLHMS has to offer for their children's education.

To add to the excitement of the evening, the PTSA organized a raffle with fun prizes, welcoming the newest Mustangs with open arms and a sense of community spirit.

The event was not only a great opportunity for 5th graders to familiarize themselves with OLHMS but also a chance for parents to engage with school staff and learn more about the supportive environment their children will be entering in the upcoming school year.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, providing a warm welcome to future Mustangs and setting the stage for a smooth transition to middle school life.
