Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School brought the magic to the stage on Friday, February 6th and Saturday, February 7th with its sold-out production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. Audiences were treated to an unforgettable performance filled with talent, hard work, and heart. From the opening scene to the final bow, the cast and crew delivered an amazing show that left the crowd smiling and cheering.
The students had a great time bringing this classic story to life, and it showed in every scene. Ruby T. shined as Belle, while Charlie K. gave a powerful and heartfelt performance as the Beast/Prince. Standout performances were seen throughout the cast, including Jackson M. as Gaston, Scarlet M. as Lefou, Elia L. as Lumiere, Shellyna M. as Cogsworth, and Madelyn M. as Mrs. Potts. Each performer, from featured roles to the village and castle ensemble, played an important part in making the show a success.
Behind the scenes, the dedicated crew worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. Under the leadership of Stage Manager Sofia D., the stage crew, costume crew, lighting, sound, music, and scenery teams all worked together to create a polished and professional production.
The musical was directed by Kayla Hughes and Kelli Picman, with costumes by Ashley Grady and Kathleen Harrington, and music by Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.
