On Friday, February 27th, Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School hosted a fun and meaningful charity volleyball tournament to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The event brought together OLHMS students and staff along with members of the Oak Lawn Police Department and the Oak Lawn Fire Department for a night filled with friendly competition and community spirit.
With hundreds of enthusiastic attendees, the night was a huge success. In addition to the excitement of the evening, our 8th grade student ambassadors played an important role by raising money at SWIC sporting events and through additional donation efforts. Altogether, these combined efforts brought in over $12,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Both players and spectators had a great time, showing teamwork, sportsmanship, and pride in their community. Hartman shared, “It was a great experience to play at the Make-A-Wish game, and it was a lot of fun. I’m happy to have been part of a great event.”
The evening was a wonderful example of how OLHMS comes together to make a difference, supporting children in need while building school and community pride.
