Día de los Muertos – Day of the Dead Celebrations

To celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), our EL team has put together a beautiful altar, or ofrenda, for Kolmar staff to honor and remember their loved ones who have passed away.

Mrs. Guzman started this special tradition last year, and it has continued to grow. This year, even more staff members have added photos and memories of the people they love and miss. The ofrenda is decorated with pictures, marigolds, candles, and other traditional items that represent love, remembrance, and family connection.

The ofrenda is on display in the library, right at the front of the main hallway, so everyone can stop by to admire and appreciate this meaningful celebration of life.

What is Día de los Muertos?
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a beautiful Mexican tradition celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. It’s a joyful time to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed away. Families create colorful altars (ofrendas) filled with flowers, candles, favorite foods, and photos to keep their loved ones’ memories alive. Instead of being a sad occasion, it’s a heartwarming celebration of love, memory, and family.
