IAR Testing Treats

IAR Testing Treats

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness is upon us here in District 123 and here at Kolmar our teachers are doing an amazing job keeping the students engaged and motivated! Students in 3rd-5th grade are the students who participate in this standardized test. It is split up into Literacy, Math, and Science. These young scholars have a lot to work through and answer, but our teachers are making sure they are not working so hard without rewards! One really popular “fun” thing that comes with IAR testing is that the students get to chew gum and eat mints while they are testing, which normally is a big no-no in the classroom! Other rewards have included playing fun kahoot games, getting to relax with music and coloring sheets, and even a movie reward! The student council and kindness club even decorated the doors of the classrooms testing for some extra motivation. We are so proud of how hard these students are working and so thankful for the teachers who know exactly what they need to get some fun and relaxing breaks in between testing!
