IAR Testing is off to a Smashing Start at Kolmar

Kolmar held a baseball themed “opening day” pep rally to get our 3rd-5th grade students pumped up for their upcoming IAR tests. The IAR (Illinois Assessment of Readiness) tests are spread out over the next two weeks, so to get our 3rd-5th graders excited to participate we created a little challenge for the teachers! At our opening day assembly the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers competed in a home run derby. Whoever hit the ball the furthest would win their grade an extra recess. The energy in the gym was insane! Students absolutely loved watching the competition. In the end, Mrs. Creech took home the W, announcing the whole school could have extra recess. The crowd erupted! We know our students will do amazing on their tests, and the K-2nd grade students are happy to support them by writing good luck cards and being especially quiet in the halls during testing. Thanks to Mrs. Mural, Mr. Creech, and Mrs. Ziobro for planning such a fun assembly.
