Students in Ms. Fritz's class!
Kolmar’s CASE program is always finding new and creative ways to bring life skills to students—and their latest initiative has quickly become a school favorite! Since launching in November, the CASE “Munchie Market” has skyrocketed into one of the most exciting and meaningful experiences for both students and staff.
The Munchie Market is a snack service run by CASE students for Kolmar staff. Teachers place their orders through a link by Thursday at 11:00 AM, choosing from a variety of snacks like chips, drinks, and other treats. Then, before the first lunch period, CASE students step into action—carefully organizing, preparing, and delivering each order right to classrooms across the building.
But this program is about so much more than snacks. It’s about real-world learning. Mrs. Reidy, one of Kolmar’s dedicated CASE teachers, shared,
"The CASE Munchie Market provides a hands-on learning experience for our students. Running the cart helps them build valuable life and job skills, such as money handling, customer service, teamwork, communication, responsibility, problem solving—and the list goes on!"
One of the most special parts of the Munchie Market is that every CASE classroom gets the opportunity to participate. Through a rotating schedule, all students are able to take part in running the market, ensuring that everyone gains these valuable experiences.
The Munchie Market has not only brought smiles (and snacks!) to staff members, but it has also created a powerful, hands-on learning opportunity for CASE students. It’s just another example of how Kolmar continues to build a supportive, inclusive environment where every student can learn, grow, and shine.
