OLHMS Variety Show

OLHMS Variety Show

At OLHMS, talent takes center stage during the annual Variety Show- a performance event created by kids, for kids. This exciting tradition gives scholars the opportunity to showcase their unique abilities while coming together as a school community.

This year, 16 students from grades 6 through 8 will perform on stage, displaying a wide range of talents, while 7 additional students will work behind the scenes to help the show run smoothly. From singers and dancers to comedians and instrumentalists, the Variety Show is a chance for students to shine in ways their peers and teachers may have never seen before.

“What makes this event so special is the hidden talent we discover,” Ms. Kennedy shared. “A student you see every day suddenly reveals an incredible skill or passion at auditions. It’s exciting to see who steps into the spotlight each year.”

In addition to celebrating student creativity, the Variety Show also serves a greater purpose. Each year, proceeds from the event are donated to a charitable cause. This year, all ticket sales will benefit Cradles to Crayons, a local nonprofit that provides clothing and school supplies to children across the Chicagoland area. Concession sales will support the school’s 6K Walk for Literacy, an initiative aimed at helping build a library overseas for children in need.

The show is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, March 7th at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at OLHMS. Don’t miss this memorable night of student talent!
