On Tuesday, April 22nd, the OLHMS Concert Band and Concert Chorus went on an exciting field trip filled with music and learning. Their first stop was Governors State University, where they had the opportunity to watch the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra perform a live concert. The performance gave students a chance to experience professional-level musicianship and orchestral music. Afterward, the group traveled to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, for a special musical clinic. Led by university staff, the clinic helped the band and chorus prepare for their upcoming state competition by offering expert feedback and instruction. In addition to the clinic, students were given a guided tour of the Olivet Nazarene campus, allowing them to explore college life and facilities. The trip was both educational and inspiring, giving students a deeper appreciation for music while also introducing them to potential future opportunities in higher education.
