As we close out another successful school year, OLHMS proudly reflects on a year full of growth, achievement, and Mustang spirit! This year marked two incredible milestones: the 123rd year of District 123 and the 20th year since OLHMS first opened its doors. Over the past two decades, our building has become more than just a school—it's a community where every Mustang truly belongs.
In fact, that sense of unity and inclusivity inspired our new school-wide motto: "U Belong." This powerful message has guided our work all year long, encouraging every student and staff member to support one another, embrace challenges, and celebrate their unique place in our OLHMS family.
The building itself reflected this renewed spirit, with new decals and visual updates added throughout the stairwells, office, and gym doors—bold reminders that every step taken here is part of something meaningful.
We also welcomed two amazing new assistant principals, Mrs. Laureto and Mrs. Grabarek, who brought fresh perspectives and energy to our leadership team. Their support helped guide our students and staff through exciting changes, including new curriculum implementations and pilot programs designed to enhance learning and meet the evolving needs of our scholars.
This year, our Mustangs also made their mark in the world of athletics, bringing home even more sports titles and trophies. From teamwork to perseverance, our student-athletes showed what it means to wear the Mustang name with pride.
We celebrate our newest Mustangs, who conquered their first year of middle school with curiosity, courage, and growing confidence. And we send off another amazing graduating class, whose achievements over the past three years—both in and out of the classroom—have made us incredibly proud.
To all our students: thank you for your hard work, dedication, and Mustang spirit. You continue to inspire us every day, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for each and every one of you.
