3/31-District 123 School Closure Update – Letter from the Superintendent

Letter-from-the-Superintendent

March 31, 2020 – The following is a letter that was sent from Superintendent Paul Enderle to the District123 community regarding recent school closure and coronavirus information.

D123 school closures extended through April 30

Good evening,

This afternoon, Governor J.B. Pritzker announced an extension of the Stay at Home Order to Thursday, April 30. District 123 continues to partner with the Governor’s Office, local and national health agencies, and the South Cook Intermediate Office of Education to determine when schools can safely reopen. District 123 had anticipated returning to school on Wednesday, April 8; however, the closure has now been extended through Thursday, April 30, although the closure may last longer.

To keep our community informed, we will be streaming the fourth live update tomorrow on the District 123 Facebook page at facebook.com/district123 at noon. As always, the most current information regarding the ongoing school closures can be found at d123.org/coronavirus

As the closure continues, please be assured that we will continue to diligently prepare valuable learning experiences and communicate as much information as possible. Please stay safe and take seriously the guidance provided to us from local, state and federal agencies. We continue to stand together with you during this time and remain committed to our students, staff and families.

Sincerely,
Paul J. Enderle Ed.D
Superintendent
