Xavier Hardin, a CASE student at Hometown in District 123 was recently honored at the annual Infinitec awards dinner at Gaelic Park. Hardin was the recipient of an assistive technology award from Infinitec.
“Xavier was the perfect candidate for this award. He and his team in the CASE classroom have worked so hard on growing his communication skills using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and he has really come so far. It’s been great to see,” said Janet Kennedy, AT specialist at District 123.
Xavier attended the dinner with his family and his nomination team of Colleen Kapelinski, Julie Carey, Amanda Dulaney, and Janet Kennedy. He was honored for his use of assistive technology in the classroom.
The goal of the Infinitec program is to celebrate the accomplishments of learners with disabilities who attend schools within the Infinitec Southwest Coalition area and who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in overcoming challenges and accomplishing personal goals using technology.
