Students Get a Refresh After Break

Students Get

To ease students back into the school day after Winter Break, Sward hosted a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports or PBIS Bootcamp. Students reviewed best practices for hallway behavior, how to properly dress for the weather, how to act in the bathroom and at drop off and pick up.

But this wasn’t your typical day at school, instead of learning from their teachers in the classroom, students were able to make their way around the building learning from their older peers. The Swagle Squad hosted short lessons and quizzed the younger students to help them brush up on responsible behaviors.

“Swagle Squad is our PBIS club and the members are learning to become PBIS Ambassadors for our school. The members of Swagle Squad worked to create scripts to re-teach the Eagle Expectations to the Sward students at 6 different stations. These 12 students demonstrated the core values of PBIS by being responsible and respectful in their presentations, they took on this responsibility very well and Sward students were actively engaged in the review of our Eagle Expectations,” said Lisa Trabadela, first-grade teacher at Sward.
