Smiles, High-Fives, and Sunshine Start a Bright New School Year

The beginning of a new school year brings smiles, new friends, and endless opportunities.

The first week of school at Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 was filled with excitement as students returned to the classroom, ready for a year of learning and growth. On Wednesday, 1st through 8th graders walked through the halls, reuniting with teachers and classmates while settling into their new routines. On Friday, each elementary school opened the doors to a group of new kindergarten students full of enthusiasm and ready for full-day learning.

From introductions to the start of brand-new friendships, this week set the tone for a successful school year ahead. With backpacks zipped, pencils sharpened, and classrooms buzzing with energy after a restful summer vacation, it’s clear that students and staff are ready to make this year one to remember.

Next week, the District 123 Early Learning Center will open its doors for the second year and welcome new Pre-K students to the learning community.
