District 123 Board approves new Hometown School Principal

Mrs. Amanda Bencik as Hometown School Principal

At the Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 Board of Education meeting on April 27, 2021 the Board of Education approved Mrs. Amanda Bencik as Hometown School Principal.

AmandaMrs. Bencik has an unparalleled level of enthusiasm and dedication to the students and staff of School District 123, as she has served our learning community as an assistant principal at OLHMS for the past seven years. Her poise, awareness and friendly demeanor has made a positive impact on the school climate and culture. She began her career in Burbank School District 111 where she taught ELA, math, science, and social studies for eight years. Mrs. Bencik has worked with multiple committees in the district including Curriculum Council, Assessment Committee, and E-learning Committee. She has developed a cooperative and professional rapport with students, colleagues, and parents alike. Mrs. Bencik earned her Bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier University, her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University, and is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of St. Francis. She lives in New Lenox with her husband Jason and two boys, Andrew and Colin.

Mrs. Bencik puts forth an extraordinary effort to maintain the highest standards for the children and teachers whose lives she touches. She is a dependable school leader with a strong passion for education and the ability to communicate well with others. She always makes decisions based on the unique learning needs of all children. School District 123 is proud to welcome her to Hometown Elementary School. She is looking forward to spending time getting to know the entire Hometown School community this Spring and Summer while transitioning into the new role. Mrs. Bencik is planning to host a “Meet & Greet” on May 12, 2021, at 6pm in the Gym at Hometown School.
