Live Like Abby to Host Virtual Walk-a-Thon

D123-Live Like Abby

Due to the COVID-19 and schools being closed for the remainder of the year, the Live Like Abby foundation will host a Virtual Walk-A-Thon on May 15, 2020.  Updates and activities leading up to the walk-a-thon can be found on the Live Like Abby Facebook Group!

“We are humbled by the amazing support we have received from our District 123 family over the years. We can never express how much that has truly meant. In true Abby fashion, she wanted to put a smile on everyone’s face. We hope we can do the same by continuing with this Virtual Walk-A-Thon and surrounding activities. Let’s get active and share pictures while staying safe. We will still Go Gray in May even though we can’t be together,” said Kristyn, Kevin and the Live Like Abby Board.

The group also recognizes that the pandemic may have caused financial hardships. And is working to provide refunds if a family has donated to the 2020 LLA Walk-A-Thon and feel they can use the funds, please email donations@livelikeabby.org

Abby was a 6-year-old student at Kolmar when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After 15 months of a courageous battle, she passed away at age 8. Her parents joined with the John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation as Live Like Abby to honor her and help raise funds for pediatric brain tumor research. The Foundation also promotes awareness and education about this terrible disease, the inadequacy of treatment options and the need for new approaches in care.
