“We are honored that the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association has recognized the hard work of our communications team. Each day we strive to tell the story of the Oak Lawn and Hometown learning communities, as well as, continue to help our faculty and staff tell their stories. We are fortunate to be witness to many of these stories throughout the year and are always humbled with the opportunity to be able to share them with the D123 Community,” said Assistant Superintendent for ILTC for District 123, Dr. Joseph Macchia.

Last year, District 123 received 1 Merit awards and 3 Excellence. The 2019 INSPRA Communications Contest culminated with a luncheon on September 13, where the District 123 Communications Team formally received the District’s awards.

The Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association or INSPRA is a state chapter of the National School Public Relations Association. The 859 school districts statewide are encouraged to enter their work in the annual communications contest for judging by a panel of communication experts. Communication professionals from other state chapters use a comprehensive rubric to evaluate each entry against professional communication best practices and only the top scores receive awards in the contest.
