In an effort to promote a positive initial connection between the school and home, inclusive practices, and general welcomeness Covington School is piloting a home visit process for new families this week.
John Wawczak, Principal at Covington School, has worked this past spring at building an understanding of the home visit process and eliciting feedback from Covington staff and families about their general impressions and what information new families will be looking for from the school. The group is expected to visit 75-100 homes of new students, delivering school spirit bags filled with Covington branded items and general information for new families.
This process is aligned to goals 1 and 4 for the strategic plan which encourage our school system to focus on whole child success and looking outward when engaging families.
