District 123 emphasizes and values health and wellness for all members of the district, including the incredible staff members! On Tuesday, April 5th, the entire district staff participated in a Wellness Day Institute!
While students were home enjoying their day off, the District Wellness Committee planned a thoughtful day for staff members to not only develop as professionals but also take some well-needed time to reflect on what makes them well and happy.
The day started with a generous Panera breakfast for all staff members in the OLHMS Cafetorium. They were welcomed by District 123 Administration and the Wellness Committee. Staff were then able to choose four different breakout sessions surrounded around health and wellness.
Some breakout sessions included mindfulness meditation, yoga, massage therapy, healthy juicing, stress management, financial wellness, and many others! Therapy dogs were also present for staff members to enjoy! Self-directed sessions, such as outdoor walking, basketball, volleyball, and a “chill” room were also provided.
Many specialists and community members volunteered their time to present to our staff, answer questions, and connect with the D123 staff. Everyone was so appreciative of the excellent resources and time given to reflect on their health and wellness and re-center and focus for the rest of the school year!
