School District 123 Seeks Community Feedback and Input in Strategic Planning Survey

As part of Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123’s strategic planning process, the administration invites the community to submit feedback through an online survey.

Celebrating its 123rd year, Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 has launched Ascend 123: A Comprehensive Strategic Planning Process. This milestone year, paralleling the district's assigned number, marks an important moment to redefine their educational future, maintain focus on the academic growth of 100% of their students, and affirm their commitment to excellence in education.

District 123 invites you, members of the Oak Lawn and Hometown communities, to participate in an online survey, providing honest feedback as part of the 2024-2025 strategic planning process. This is an exciting opportunity for the entire learning community to engage in the conversation and help shape the future of District 123.

As part of the commitment to excellence and comprehensive planning, Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 is proud to partner with Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), a nationally recognized firm specializing in educational strategic planning. This collaboration will leverage HYA's extensive experience in helping schools and districts formulate strategic goals that are both visionary and achievable. Together with HYA, the district aims to create a strategic plan that is innovative, forward-thinking, and aligns with the unique needs and aspirations of the community.

"The effective education of students requires the whole community's commitment. We are committed to a strategic planning process that not only sets direction but does so through a collective, inclusive approach that values every voice." - Dr. Paul Enderle, Superintendent of School District 123.

Focus groups are currently underway, where community members are providing valuable insights about their experiences with HYA. The recurring themes from these discussions will serve as the foundation for the District's strategic plan. Rest assured, all feedback is shared anonymously, so the administration will not know who said what.

Now, District 123 is offering an additional opportunity for everyone to have their voice heard through an online survey. This is a critical moment for those unable to attend the focus groups to share their perspectives and make a lasting impact in the District. Even if you’ve already participated in a focus group, the survey offers another chance to expand on your thoughts and engage more deeply in this transformative process.

"District 123's new strategic planning process is a pivotal step in advancing the quality of education and enhancing community involvement. As we chart this path, we will consider the diverse perspectives within our community, integrating them into the broader vision and aspirations we hold for our learning environment. This endeavor goes beyond mere goal-setting; it is about crafting a future that reflects our collective aspirations and ensures sustained educational excellence," - Brian Nichols, President of the School District 123 Board of Education.

Your role in participating in these focus groups and surveys is not just important, it’s crucial. Your voice will shape the priorities guiding District 123 through 2030. Your time and consideration in contributing to this important process will help ensure District 123 continues to thrive in its 123rd year and beyond.

Don’t miss your chance to help shape the future of education in District 123. Take the survey today and make your voice count!
