Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 is starting its Parent University sessions for the 2025-26 school year in less than two weeks. This series is designed to bring families and schools closer together while sparking meaningful conversations about student success. With 11 sessions from September through April, families will have opportunities throughout the year to learn more about the District’s programming and more while engaging directly with staff and administrators.
Each session will highlight important topics such as curriculum, School Safety protocols, Early Learning programming, Special Education programming, and the importance of recreational learning. Families will also be introduced to the District’s Portrait of a Graduate, a shared vision of the skills and qualities that prepare students for success in learning, work, and life.
Parent University will not only provide information but also foster collaboration. By creating space for families to learn, ask questions, and share ideas, the District is reinforcing its belief that a strong home-school partnership is essential. Parents’ involvement, support, and communication will continue to be central as the learning community comes together for these sessions.
In the first Parent University session of the school year, district leaders and local safety officials will discuss school safety. The event will be at 6:30 PM on September 18 at the D123 Administration Offices.
