Volunteers Needed for Community Leaf Raking Day on Nov 15

Community Leaf Raking Day is November 15, 2025

Join us in helping our neighbors on Community Leaf Raking Day.

Don’t miss the 2025 Community Leaf Raking Event on November 15. Last year, over 90 volunteers came out to rake leaves for the elderly and those otherwise not able to do so in the Oak Lawn and Hometown Communities.

D123 is proud to coordinate this outstanding Oak Lawn-Hometown community service event. All D123 families, community families, and community organizations are invited to help rake leaves for those who may have difficulty doing it on their own.

"In District 123, serving others isn’t just something we do, it’s part of who we are. Our students grow up learning the importance of generosity, compassion, and community engagement. The annual leaf-raking event is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, lend a hand to neighbors in need, and put these values into action. It’s experiences like this that help shape caring, responsible, and connected members of our community." — Paul Enderle, Superintendent

All volunteers should report to Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School at 9 AM and bring a rake if possible. Volunteers will travel by personal vehicles to their house assignments and return to OLHMS for a hot dog lunch at noon.

Community families and organizations can contact Larry Fetchko at lfetchko@d123.org or (708) 203-7280.

All students require a parent in attendance for supervision.
