On January 29th, Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 teachers Cherie Noisette (Hannum), Ashley Lettiere (Sward), and Karen Kicho (Kolmar) led a tourniquet training class for D123 staff.
These three educators, along with others across the district, completed Emergency Care Instructor training in October. This course prepares teachers to train fellow staff members on how to use the emergency medical kits located in each classroom. Each kit contains tourniquets, pressure bandages, and other essential emergency medical equipment.
Every D123 school now has at least one trained instructor, and the District also provides dedicated training equipment to support ongoing skill refreshers for staff.
This work strengthens districtwide preparedness and reflects D123’s shared commitment to the safety of all students and staff. Thank you to Cherie, Ashley, and Karen for stepping into this important role and helping build a safer school community.
