D123 Board of Education Approves Madalyn Laureto as Principal of OLHMS for 2026-27 School Year

Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 is excited to announce Madalyn Laureto as the next principal of Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School, starting in the 2026-27 school year.

“Mrs. Laureto is an exceptional middle school leader and instructional expert, ideally positioned to guide Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School into the future. She combines the practical skill to oversee the daily operations of a large school with the vision to advance academic goals and uphold high expectations. She is effective at building strong instructional systems, supporting staff, and connecting with students, families, and colleagues to cultivate a school culture where each student can thrive.”  — Dr. Paul J. Enderle, Superintendent

The Selection Process

The District conducted a rigorous search to secure the best possible leader for OLHMS, a school of approximately 1,100 students and 130 staff. From more than 30 applicants, 10 were selected for intensive screening and narrowed to five finalists for in-person interviews.

The process included two team-based interviews with administrators, staff, and parents, a school tour, and a one-on-one meeting with the Superintendent. Stakeholder input from surveys and focus groups, including over 600 students in grades 5-8, directly shaped the interview questions and selection criteria, ensuring the process reflected what students, families, and staff value the most in the next OLHMS principal.

Following this process, Laureto was presented to the Board of Education as the final candidate at the March 16, 2026, board meeting, when she was approved as the next principal of OLHMS for the 2026-27 school year.
