Letter from the Superintendent: Update Regarding Federal Review Notification

The following is a letter that was sent from Dr. Paul Enderle, Superintendent of Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 regarding a recent federal review notification that was received.

Dear Oak Lawn-Hometown District 123 Community,

Yesterday, Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 received correspondence from the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division indicating the initiation of a Title IX compliance review related to certain district curricula, policies, practices, programs, and activities.

At this time, no findings or conclusions have been made. Public school districts are subject to reviews and audits as a regular part of ensuring accountability, and we are familiar with these processes. The District will fully cooperate, comply with all requirements, and navigate this review in accordance with applicable state and federal law.

As reflected in our mission, “Preparing today’s learners for tomorrow’s world,” we will remain firmly focused on what matters most, our students and school community. Our priority continues to be providing safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments while supporting our families and staff in their important work each day.

We will proceed thoughtfully and responsibly, sharing updates as appropriate while respecting the integrity of the review process.

Sincerely,

Paul J. Enderle
Superintendent
Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123
