D123 Board of Education Approves Scott Stachacz as Director of Buildings and Grounds

Scott Stachacz

Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 is excited to announce that Mr. Scott Stachacz will serve as the district's new Director of Buildings and Grounds. A familiar face returning to D123, Scott previously served the district for more than a decade and brings a deep knowledge of its facilities, staff, and school community to his new role.

The District conducted a thorough search to identify the best possible leader to oversee its facilities and grounds. From a pool of more than 50 applicants, candidates advanced through multiple rounds of interviews before Stachacz emerged as the clear choice. Following this process, Stachacz was presented to the Board of Education and approved as the district's new Director of Buildings and Grounds at the June 22, 2026, board meeting.

Scott Stachacz is an experienced facilities leader with more than two decades of experience maintaining safe, clean, and well-run learning environments. With a strong commitment to operational efficiency, health and life safety, and team leadership, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as Director of Buildings and Grounds. His pride in his work and his deep familiarity with District 123 make him an invaluable addition, and a welcome return, to the district's leadership team.

Stachacz began his career with Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 in October 2002, serving as Custodial Supervisor and Maintenance Technician for more than eleven years. During that time, he developed an intimate understanding of the district's buildings and grounds while building lasting relationships with the staff and school community he served.

In May 2014, Stachacz advanced into district leadership as Director of Buildings and Grounds for Flossmoor School District 161, a role he has held for more than a decade. There, he led, trained, and evaluated a team of more than 25 custodial and maintenance staff across multiple facilities, served as a key decision-maker during both normal business hours and after-hours emergencies, and oversaw project planning, physical plant systems, and health and life safety compliance across the district.

“Scott’s return to District 123 brings back a trusted leader who understands our schools, our people, and our commitment to excellence. We are excited to welcome him back to lead our Buildings and Grounds Department with the professionalism, experience, and pride that reflect our ‘100% All In’ culture.” -Dr. Paul J. Enderle, Superintendent

As Director of Buildings and Grounds, Stachacz will be responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient facilities across the district, leading custodial and maintenance teams, coordinating projects, and ensuring health and life safety compliance in support of students, staff, and the broader community. His proven leadership and his familiarity with District 123 will be invaluable as he works to strengthen the district's facilities and learning environments.
